American Golden Plover
Today's bird photo highlight at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, CT, was the American Golden Plover in transitional plumage. Although there have been several reported sightings west of New Haven, this is the first I know of east of there.
The bird was milling around with twenty or so seagulls. I did manage a few isolated shots:
The rain-created puddles continue to interest the Least Sandpipers and this Pectoral Sandpiper, which once again gave me a wonderful pose.
